World Qualifiers

The Direct World Qualifier Events are opportunities for young competitors to lay it all on the line for their chance to earn the right to represent Canada at the YETI – Jr World Finals in Las Vegas. Part of the NFR Experience, the YETI – Jr World Finals hosts more than 800 contestants within the Wrangler Rodeo Arena over the 10 days in December. These young athletes compete for more than $1 million in combined cash and prize payout on their quest to claim a coveted Montana Silversmiths championship buckle. It’s the Junior World Finals.

Champions of the Direct World Qualifier event get an automatic invitaion to take their spot among the top Junior athletes in the world as they represnt Canada.

Contestants at the Direct Qualifier event can expect to be paired up with some of the top junior bucking horses in the world, with some of them also being selected to participate in the Jr World Finals.

National Finals Entry Form

The CJRA National Finals is a single day event with the National Champion being detemined in each event and division by the highest combined score over two rounds.  

The 2023 CJRA National Finals to be determinated

 

PEE WEE

  • Age 6-9 (as of January 1 of competition year)
  • Weight Limit = 85 lbs
  • Stock Size: Mini bloodlines, maximum 450 lbs

ROOKIE

  • Age 10-11 (as of January 1 of competition year)
  • Weight Limit = 95 lbs
  • Stock Size: Pony bloodlines, maximum 600 lbs & 13.2 HH

JUNIOR

  • Age 12-13 (as of January 1 of competition year)
  • Weight Limit = 120 lbs
  • Stock Size: Pony bloodlines, maximum 675 lbs

 

SENIOR

  • Age 14-15 (as of January 1 of competition year)
  • Weight Limit = 160 lbs
  • Stock Size: Any bloodline, maximum 1,000 lbs & 14.2 HH
  • ** Stock in this division may be selected based on rider ability **

NOVICE

  • Age 16-18 (as of January 1 of competition year)
  • Weight Limit = NO WEIGHT LIMIT
  • Stock Size: NO LIMIT
  • ** Stock in this division may be selected based on rider ability *
